Whatever your child loves to do, at Hamelin-Laie, we have many thrilling activities and experiences for them to get involved with.

Extracurricular clubs and activities

Our rich variety of fun clubs and activities across all age groups will enable your child to build upon their interests and discover new passions. From art and music to sport and dance, there’s a little bit of everything to explore or choose from.

STEAM

Our STEAM programme will challenge your child to think analytically, solve problems, and embrace their curiosity. From robotics and coding to math and science clubs, we’ll encourage your child’s ‘design thinking’ modelled by our incredible MIT mentors and experts.

Music

Your child will enjoy playing music and an instrument of their choice so much during the school day that they may also want to take lessons after school, too! They’ll flourish in our bespoke lessons with specialist teachers – choosing from piano, trumpet, guitar, or drums, to name just a few.

Sport

Our superb outdoor sport facilities host a range of activities for your child to enjoy being active, alongside friends or in competition with other clubs. Your child will find an activity they enjoy – football, basketball, roller-skating, and Taekwondo, among others – and competitive athletes will benefit from our exceptional coaching.

Dance and musical theatre

Our dance and musical extracurriculars will encourage your child to participate in a production, no matter their ability level. They’ll learn different creative skills and techniques to perform in our dance studios or on stage in our outdoor Greek amphitheatre, while building passion that’ll stay with them for life.

Creative and performing arts

Whether it's painting, sculpture, music, dance, literature, or any other art form, the positive impact of the arts is undeniable. Through our dedicated and specialised arts programme, your child will have the freedom to express themselves, explore new ideas, and see the world in a different light.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations gives our secondary students exciting opportunities to share their thoughts on pressing global issues. Taking the lead during debates and conferences, your child can be ambitious about having a positive impact on the world.

Other passions

Our students are regularly inspired by visits from special guests and authors, who give talks or deliver hands-on workshops that model different passions and possibilities. We look forward to our annual Open Mind week, too, when parents and community members share their experiences in the world.

GET INVOLVED

We're one happy family at Hamelin-Laie International School Barcelona! When you join us, you become part of a lively social community of other parents, families, teachers, and school alumni. And parents play an active role in school life, participating in events throughout the year.

At events like our annual International Potluck, they share their family's culture with our wider school community. Primary classes frequently invite them as special guests during story time, and secondary parents may volunteer during Open Mind week, when they share their personal and professional experiences in the world with our students.

We're delighted to host our Parent Academy, too. As partners in our children's learning experiences, parents can learn, too! We offer sessions on topics like parent-child relationships, school teaching techniques, child psychology, and other areas that’ll help you support your child’s growth.
