Your child will join a closeknit community of up to 42 secondary students, supported by our caring house parents and dedicated staff. They'll be guided throughout their time here by our brilliant boarding staff, who are available around the clock to provide invaluable support.

Our warm and friendly boarding staff will get to know your child personally, ensuring they're set up for success in all aspects of their life. Living and studying in our international boarding house builds our students’ confidence and independence, as they get ready to take on the world. We encourage our boarders to develop healthy habits through personalised health and wellbeing support. During supervised study in the evenings, our boarders also take advantage of extra help and tutorials from our academic staff.

With 24-hour security, a communal garden, and an outdoor kitchen, our safe and comfortable boarding facilities offer a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Inside, our students enjoy shared living rooms for socialising and entertainment, balanced with the privacy of their own single room with an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning.

We have convenient weekly cleaning and laundry services, too.

Contemporary bedrooms are relaxing places to rest and study, and we encourage our students to make them their own.

Our bright social areas – which include a comfortable lounge and outdoor BBQ area – are great places to spend time with friends.

All our bedrooms have a private ensuite bathroom, which are clean, modern, and well-appointed.

Our bedrooms have everything our students need to feel at home, including bedding and towels, a mini-fridge and kettle, a safe, and study area.

Every day offers something new and exciting. Outside of the classroom, you’ll find our boarders in our dedicated study spaces, watching a movie with friends, or relaxing in our quiet garden areas.

Rise and shine

Our boarding students begin their day by checking in with our team, ensuring they're ready for the day ahead.

Breakfast

At breakfast, your child will choose from a selection of nutritious local and international options.

8:00 am

Classes begin!

Our boarders join up with their peers for a packed day of lessons and activities. Everyone’s day is a little different, following their personalised learning journey.

9:00 am

After-school activities and supervised study

After class, our students head back to the boarding house. They’ll get ready for some supervised study time and extra-curricular activities.

From 5:00 pm

Dinner and night-time activities

Dinner is the perfect time to take a break and enjoy some quality time with friends. Our international dinners are cooked by an incredible in-house catering team.

Free time and then lights out

Before bed, our boarders enjoy some nighttime activities or catch-up on school work. They'll then relax and wind down quietly, getting ready for proper night’s rest.

Weekends in our boarding community are full of fun, socialising, and relaxation by the Mediterranean Sea! Boarders embark on exciting weekend trips and activities, where they explore Catalonia and Spain, and engage in cultural events, festivals, and outdoor adventures.

Cultural excursions to museums, art shows, live theatre, parks, the movies, sporting events, and local points of interests ensure every weekend is full of rich opportunities.
Water and beach activities – including sports like sailing, paddleboarding, and kayaking – keep our boarders fit and active, and boost wellbeing.
Other sporting activities, like hiking and cycling, encourage fun and fitness.
Events across Catalonia and Spain open our students’ eyes to incredible local culture.
Shopping trips and visits to local restaurants make every weekend enjoyable.

OUR BOARDING HOUSE TEAM

Our team creates a balanced, fun, and supportive boarding culture at Hamelin-Laie.

Our house parents and staff live in our boarding houses, and get to know each student personally. They're always on hand to provide support – be it emotional, academic, or practical. Parents can easily reach them through an email or phone call, too.
