Here’s what the first 90 days typically look like for new families joining Hamelin-Laie.

Weeks 1–4: Feeling at Home from Day One

Your first month is all about connection, making sure every student and family feels supported, informed, and ready to begin this exciting journey.

For students and families joining mid-year

Before the first official day of school, our dedicated Admissions Team will invite you to an onboarding visit. You'll get to meet the Heads of School, teachers, tutors, and key staff members. We'll support you to ensure you have everything you need, from buying the school uniform to touring key facilities, so that the first day becomes a positive milestone rather than a stressful moment.

Support from the Hamelin Parents Committee (HPC)

From day one, our Hamelin Parents Committee (HPC) is there to guide you through the transition. This parent-led group helps new families with practical advice, community integration, and any questions that arise during the first weeks. Their experience and warmth make settling in even easier.

Weeks 5–8: Getting Involved and Finding Your Rhythm

As your family settles into daily life at the school, it’s time to discover the rich learning experiences and vibrant community that make Hamelin-Laie unique.

• Parent Academy sessions and community events open the door to valuable conversations with educators, specialists, and fellow parents.
• Teachers and tutors closely monitor each child’s adaptation, academically, socially, and emotionally, to ensure our personalized approach aligns with their pace, strengths, and interests.
• Families start forming the connections that will shape their school experience: friendships, class networks, and support circles.

Weeks 9–12: Belonging and Growing Together

By the end of the third month, most families feel fully integrated into the dynamic life of Hamelin-Laie.

• Students have made meaningful friendships, feel increasingly confident in our trilingual learning environment, and engage actively in academic, artistic, and co-curricular activities.
• Parents feel connected, informed, and part of a strong international community—both within the school and in Barcelona.
• The HPC continues to be a touchpoint for community engagement, reinforcing that no family navigates this journey alone.

• Families are invited to take part in events that celebrates their child’s learning and development. These experiences may include entry points, exit points, concerts, or performances, giving parents a meaningful opportunity to follow their child's learning.
